Are Friends Electric?

“Are Friends Electric” is a series of 7 paintings only, which are my take on the “Urban Art”  genre but with a Sci-Fi twist, the collection incorporates a number of different influences from the neon cityscapes of Soho, New York and Tokyo, the Tyrell and Weyland-Yutani Corporations and the ‘New Romantic’ movement of the 1980’s.

The collection consists of 7 portraits of characters from a not so faraway dystopian future, where A.I. and robotics are more “human than human” and the lines become blurred between what’s real and what isn’t.  

Medium: Acrylic, aerosol paint, liquid chrome graffiti writing, 2D text  in coloured rhinestones and metal , tattoo transfers , holographic glitter , florescent paint, on canvas.
